On 09/18/2010, Khang Hung Corporation  organized charity trip to the Fostering and Sponsoring center for disabled children in Thi Nghe.

The center currently takes care of 320 children, 60% of them here have cerebral palsy so they are unable to walk and take care of themselves. Most children here are orphans; these orphaned children with disabilities were placed by hospitals. As the number of children has increased, the center is facing many infrastructure difficulties. When the idea to organize a day of volunteer work at the center was proposed in the company, we received an enthusiastic response from the staff. 

On Saturday Sept. 18^th, our group of Hung Khang employees arrived at the center at 8am. We were thrilled to discover a new world to us. There were also many other volunteers at the center, creating a busy and enthusiastic atmosphere. We were also nervous, we did not quite know what to expect.

Whoever first comes to the center will be shocked to see the disabled chidren. We were shocked too, some a little afraid. However, once work was distributed, with everyone something to do, we started to feel more comfortable dealing with the children. Some help them eat, some helped them to make drawings, and some played with them... gradually time spent together shortened the initial distance. We felt closer to them and started to feel happy spending time with them.

This activity on the Mid-Autumn is one of a series at Hung Khang we call "Looking to the community". This was the first charity day organized by the company to help disabled people, and it has led to the discovery of another world by the staff and confronted them with completely foreign environment and feelings. Beyond the assistance provided to these children, the day also led to better self-understanding.

Charity work is held at the company annually on the occasion such as Children’s day, Mid-autumn festivals, Christmas... Through these activities the management of the company want to express the core value "respect" not only inside the company and with customers, but also within the community.
